Google has made a number of Gemini 3-based AI tools available for free within Gmail, after they were exclusive to subscribers of Google AI Plus and Ultra plans.
This step includes the availability of smart summaries and tools such as suggested responses and Help Me Write, which expands the reach of AI capabilities within email without the need for a paid subscription.
In this context, the AI Inbox feature organizes your inbox by filtering out unimportant messages, while providing a quick summary that highlights the most important points. It also summarizes long Reply to All messages, making it easier to follow busy conversations.

As for the Help Me Write feature, the user can enter a simple idea or directive, and Gemini can formulate the entire message, with the ability to modify specific parts of the resulting text.
Likewise, suggested replies are an evolution of the Smart Replies feature, as they rely on understanding the context of the conversation and mimicking the user’s writing style in suggested replies.
These features are scheduled to begin arriving to Gmail users in the United States in the English language, and will later expand to include additional regions and languages in the coming months.
