Samsung sparked widespread controversy last year when it removed Bluetooth capabilities from the S Pen in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and if some were waiting for this feature to return with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the current indications do not bear good news.
A new hands-on clip of the Galaxy S26 Ultra reveals that the S Pen will continue to work without Bluetooth support, limiting its role to traditional pen functions only. This leak comes via YouTuber Sahil Karoul, who was able to obtain a copy of the phone before its official announcement.
Previous versions of the S Pen with Bluetooth enabled the pen to be used as a small remote control, whether to take photos via the Camera app, navigate between photos in the gallery, or even control presentation slides. This gave the pen additional functions beyond writing and drawing.
The decision to remove Bluetooth in the Galaxy S25 Ultra has led to widespread speculation about Samsung possibly completely abandoning stylus support in the Galaxy S Ultra series.
However, the continued presence of the S Pen in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, despite the absence of wireless connectivity features, confirms that the company has not abandoned the idea, at least in this generation.
