Internal research conducted by Samsung revealed that the vast majority of users (nearly 8 in 10) regularly rely on more than one AI agent.
Based on these results, the company is working to redevelop Galaxy AI in line with a multi-agent future, with the aim of facilitating the experience of navigating between more than one artificial intelligence system more smoothly.
Samsung is adding support for multiple agents across the operating system itself, giving Galaxy AI deep integration that keeps pace with the rapid development of AI. Through this system-level integration, the company ensures that new agents are introduced in a way that is consistent with users’ familiar Galaxy experience.
This integration allows the user to control multiple agents without having to navigate between applications or repeat commands, and gives each agent the context needed to deliver more natural and seamless interactions.
Perplexity joins as the first new agent in this trend, as it can be summoned by saying “Hey Plex” or by assigning the side button to it. It is scheduled to appear on upcoming flagship devices from Galaxy, coinciding with the approaching launch of the Galaxy S26 series.
Plex integrates deeply with core Samsung apps like Gallery, Notes, Calendar, Clock, and Reminder, in addition to supporting some third-party apps. It is also distinguished by its ability to perform multi-step tasks within integrated workflows.

Samsung confirms in its press release that more details regarding supported devices and usage experience will be announced soon. Expectations indicate that the One UI 8.5 update may bring some (or all) of these features to older Galaxy S and Galaxy Z phones.
Won Jun Choi, COO and Head of Mobile Experience R&D at Samsung Electronics, says the company is committed to building an open and inclusive AI ecosystem that gives users more choice, flexibility and control, explaining that Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator that brings together multiple forms of AI into one natural, connected experience.
In a related context, Samsung recently revealed an advanced version of Bixby within One UI 8.5, which allows system settings to be modified via natural language commands instead of rigid formulas, in addition to providing instant web search results to get updated answers.
