Dell announced the return of its classic XPS laptop lineup during the CES 2026 exhibition in Las Vegas on January 5, 2026, after a previous decision to rename it to the XPS 13, XPS 14, and XPS 16 in 2024, which sparked widespread criticism from users and reviewers because it eliminated the distinction between sizes and categories. The announcement is a direct response to negative feedback, returning the lineup to its traditional XPS 13, XPS 14 and XPS 16 names, while maintaining the modern design and cutting-edge specifications.

Dell confirmed that the decision to return to traditional names came after surveying customers, who expressed their preference for clear differentiation between sizes. The price of the XPS 13 starts at $1,299, the XPS 14 starts at $1,699, and the XPS 16 starts at $2,199, with availability in the market during the first quarter of 2026.

The move is seen as Dell’s acknowledgment of the importance of listening to customers, especially after criticism of the previous renaming being deemed “stupid” by some reviewers.
