iQOO revealed more details about the iQOO 15R phone before its expected launch date on February 24, to be the first version carrying the R category in the company’s series of numbers.

After the brand previously announced some specifications, this time it highlighted the screen, in addition to confirming that the phone supports IP68 and IP69 protection standards.

The phone comes with an AMOLED screen with a hole for the front camera, with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, with a maximum local brightness of up to 5000 nits, while the brightness drops to only 1 nits at its lowest levels.

The screen also supports the HDR10+ standard, and includes a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated under the screen, with no official confirmation yet of its measurement.

Regarding the cameras, the company explained that the phone will include an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, along with a 50-megapixel main camera based on the Sony LYT-700V sensor, with support for shooting 4K video at a rate of 60 frames per second.

As for the rest of the confirmed specifications, the phone is based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, and includes a huge battery with a capacity of 7600 mAh, with support for fast wired charging of 100 watts, in addition to the bypass charging feature.

The phone also comes with a Q2 Supercomputing chip, an IceCore VC cooling system with a capacity of 6.5K, and supports running games at a rate of 144 frames per second via frame generation technology.

The iQOO 15R runs OriginOS 6 straight out of the box, with promises of four years of system updates and six years of security updates.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC, along with support for an IR Blaster port, with the basic version priced at less than Rs 50,000.
