Audio-Technica Japan has unveiled the limited-edition ATH-WP900SE wooden headphones, made from Solid Ash wood and finished in a three-color lacquer finish by renowned guitar maker Fujigen. The headphones are designed to deliver detailed sound that has been specially tuned for the highly accurate reproduction of stringed instruments, such as guitars, with clearer sound.

The “ATH-WP900SE” headset is currently available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of 110,000 Japanese yen (about 750 US dollars) from the company’s website in Japan, and is scheduled to be officially launched on February 20, 2026.

Over-ear headphones use 53mm drivers mounted in ear cups that contain audio ports, voice coils, and air vents, all specifically designed to reproduce the sounds of guitars with warmth, precision, and clarity, according to the company. The amplifiers feature a frequency response of 5 to 50 kHz, a sensitivity of 98 dB/mW, an impedance of 37 ohms, and a maximum power input of 1,000 mW.

The solid ash wood ear cups have been custom painted by guitar maker Fujigen in a three-tone “Sunburst” pattern, similar to the finish used on the company’s guitars. To ensure comfort during long listening sessions, the headband and ear cushions are lined with Memory Foam covered with synthetic leather. The ear cups also rotate flat for easy transport in the included carrying case.

The ATH-WP900SE can be connected to guitar amplifiers and digital audio players using the included 3.9-foot (1.2-meter) cable, which includes a 3.5mm unbalanced cable and a 4.4mm A2DC balanced cable. The weight of the headphone is 8.3 ounces (235 grams).
