In an attempt to break into the augmented reality (AR) glasses market, Asus unveiled the ROG Xreal R1 glasses during the CES 2026 exhibition in Las Vegas, which were developed in cooperation with the specialized company
Although the glasses retain some of the limitations found in older models, such as a display resolution limited to FHD (1,920 x 1,080) and a relatively narrow field of view (57 degrees) with 3 degrees of freedom (3DoF), they excel with exclusive features aimed at gamers, most notably a superior refresh rate of 240 Hz via Micro OLED screens, which is twice the usual rate (120 Hz) in current glasses.
