The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to reach the market in more than six months, however new rumors about possible color options are beginning to appear, and Apple may finally meet a long-awaited demand from users by releasing the Pro version in red. As for the iPhone Fold, it will likely not get eye-catching color options.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is currently considering introducing a new color option called “Dark Red” for the iPhone 18 Pro. Since adopting an aluminum unibody design in the iPhone 17 Pro, the company has greater flexibility to introduce new colors for the Pro series.
Gorman points out that Cosmic Orange is very popular, especially in the Chinese market, so Apple may keep both colors despite red being close to orange on the color wheel.

He adds that red is currently considered a main option under testing for the iPhone 18 Pro series, which is exciting news for fans of the red iPhone Pro version, after the company stopped offering the red color since the iPhone 14 in 2022. As for rumors about other colors such as violet and brown, they are most likely just variations within the same idea of red.
On the other hand, Apple is expected to maintain limited color options for the iPhone Fold, limited to dark shades such as gray or black, in addition to a light color such as white or silver, similar to early versions of the iPhone.
This is likely due to the fact that the foldable phone is being manufactured for the first time, and choosing a smaller number of colors facilitates the manufacturing process, as happened with the iPhone X, which came in only two colors compared to six colors in the iPhone 7.
