Over the past few years, the field of artificial intelligence has witnessed increasing interest, prompting many companies to invest heavily in this sector in an effort to capitalize on the rising demand. As a result, technology companies have rushed to develop their infrastructure to keep up with this momentum.
Although Apple was relatively late in entering the artificial intelligence race, recent reports indicate that it is now preparing for a major step in this field.
Quoting famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to begin mass production of its internally developed chip dedicated to artificial intelligence servers during the second half of 2026. In the same context, the company is likely to begin establishing and operating its own data centers by 2027.
Based on this timeline, Kuo expects Apple to see significant growth in demand for on-device AI starting in 2027.
This comes after the successes achieved by Apple Silicon chips, such as the M5 chip that was introduced last October and is used in several devices, including the Vision Pro.
Despite the absence of technical details yet about the new artificial intelligence server chip, Apple’s start of mass production is a remarkable development, especially in light of the strong performance provided by its processors in the iPhone and the rest of its devices.
