In an effort to ensure the “authenticity” of health and safety information in its App Store, Apple is tightening requirements for all apps focused on the new coronavirus Covid-19.
Apple published a statement to developers explaining the review process for applications related to the Corona virus, which has now become a global pandemic.
Earlier this month, the company began taking strict measures against applications related to the spread of the new Corona virus, and rejected applications from four developers whose applications displayed statistics about countries that had confirmed cases of the disease.
Apple indicated in its statement that it will not accept any application related to the new Corona virus except from recognized entities such as government organizations, non-governmental organizations that focus on health, and companies with deep credibility in health issues.
Apple’s move comes after appeals from the White House to technology companies to help stop rumors and misinformation campaigns about the emerging coronavirus from spreading online.
