Al-Dabaiba comments on the assassination of Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi
Al-Dabaiba explained in his post on the
His full comment was as follows:
“Our country is going through difficult moments that bring to the fore the questions of the path we want for Libya, and the cost that Libyans pay whenever the logic of violence overpowers the voice of reason.
The crime of assassinating the Libyan citizen, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, is a reminder that Libyan blood, regardless of its source, remains a red line that should not be tolerated, and that the paths of assassination and exclusion never produced a state or stability, but rather deepened the division and burdened the national memory with wounds.
Libya has known this method at various stages of its history, and its results have been to distance Libyans from the unified state project and prolong the conflict. Therefore, confidence remains placed in state institutions and the path of justice to reveal the full truth and establish accountability, far from the logic of revenge or justification.
The Libya that we are working for is a state of law and institutions, in which disputes are managed through dialogue and appeal to the will of the people, not through violence or reproducing the tragedies of the past.
It is a homeland that accommodates everyone who chooses to engage sincerely in the project of one state and one flag, as this is a real opportunity for the supporters of this movement to move from the logic of alignment to the logic of the state, and on the basis of a break with the ways of the past, and full commitment to the rules and institutions of the state.
In this context, we affirm that submission to the judiciary and the state is the true guarantee of rights, and the truest path to preserving oneself and dignity, and that the Libyan judiciary remains, despite all the challenges, an independent national institution and a haven of justice.
We denounce any attempt to infringe on the right of the relatives of the deceased or the Gaddafi tribe to hold mourning ceremonies, or restrict the duty of human sympathy among Libyans, or impose any security manifestations that are outside of human values and authentic Libyan social customs.
We extend our condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased, and to the Qadhadhfa tribe, and we ask God to shower the deceased with His mercy, and to inspire his family and lovers with patience and solace.
“To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return”
May God protect Libya and grant success to its people to close the pages of pain and build a future based on justice and peace.”
