Sweekar announced its new AI Pocket Pet, a modern evolution of the classic Tamagotchi toy idea, during CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 5, 2026. The device combines the physical design of a traditional virtual pet with artificial intelligence, to provide a digital companion that never “dies” no matter how much you neglect it, unlike the original Tamagotchi, which punished neglect with the animal’s death.

AI Pocket Pet comes with a small colorful screen and simple control buttons, with a virtual pet character that interacts with the user via generative artificial intelligence, learning from interactions and developing its personality over time, and responding to voice and touch commands. The device supports features such as playing, feeding and sleeping, but without the penalty of death, it adapts to the user’s lifestyle and always remains active. It runs on a rechargeable battery that lasts weeks, with Bluetooth connectivity for updates and data sharing with a smartphone app.

Sweekar has not announced a specific price for the device, but it is expected to range between US$50 and US$100, similar to recent Tamagotchi toys, with market availability during the second half of 2026. It is being promoted as an ideal companion for children and adults who want to experience a virtual pet without worrying about “death” or neglect.
