Apple has been staying away from the foldable phone market for years, reportedly mainly due to its dissatisfaction with the level of screen wrinkles in this category.
But this year, the company is reportedly preparing to launch the iPhone Fold as its first foldable phone, taking advantage of a nearly wrinkle-free foldable screen supplied by Samsung.
A new leak from China reveals precise details about the size of the crease in the screen. Information indicates that its depth is less than 0.15 mm, with a fold angle not exceeding 2.5 degrees. So the screen won’t technically be completely wrinkle-free, but it comes pretty close to that description.

According to rumors, Apple will announce the iPhone Fold in September in conjunction with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are expected to be launched in the spring of 2027.
The phone is also likely to come with a rear camera design similar to the iPhone Air with two sensors, while it relies on Touch ID integrated into the power button on the right side instead of Face ID.
