Motorola has begun preparing to launch its new Moto G17 phone, to be the expected successor to the Moto G15 phone that was announced in December 2024 and officially arrived on the market last February. With the one-year anniversary approaching since the launch of the previous generation, it seems that the company is preparing to push the new generation to the forefront soon.

A frequently asked questions page on the Motorola support website in the United States revealed that the Moto G17 phone is already under development, as it confirmed that the device supports microSD cards with a capacity of up to 1 TB.

In the same context, the page indicated that the company is also working on issuing the Moto G17 Power, similar to what it did previously by launching the Moto G15 and G15 Power at the same time.

In another development, sale lists in some stores in Italy showed additional information about the new phone. According to these listings, the Moto G17 will be available in two colors: light blue and dark blue, with at least one version coming with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Although the phone currently appears in a state of “not available in stock” without specifying an official launch date, expectations indicate that the announcement may take place within the next few weeks, especially if the same schedule that Motorola followed with the previous generation is relied upon.
