Samsung is preparing to unveil the Galaxy S26 series next week during the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. A few days before the official announcement, a famous leaker revealed new details regarding the Galaxy S26 Ultra phone, specifically the front camera.
Leaker Ice Universe explained that the phone will be equipped with a 12-megapixel selfie camera, which is the same resolution as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but relying on a completely new sensor.
Instead of using the Samsung ISOCELL 3LU sensor as in the previous generation, the information indicates a shift towards a sensor from Sony.
Despite this change, some technical specifications are expected to remain unchanged, such as the sensor size of 1/3.2 inches, pixel size of 1.12 µm, and lens aperture of f/2.2.
However, the camera is said to offer a wider field of view of up to 85 degrees, which could give selfies a wider frame. The front camera hole is also expected to become slightly larger compared to the previous version.
So far, the nature of the actual improvements that the new Sony sensor will provide has not been clear, but the full picture is likely to unfold during the upcoming event.
