Xiaomi recently confirmed the imminent launch of the Redmi K90 Max, which will be the third phone in the series after the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max that were announced earlier. The company also revealed its intention to introduce the Redmi K90 Ultra version, but with an unexpected change in its position within the lineup.
Redmi General Manager Lu Weiping explained that the Redmi K90 Ultra will not be the most powerful phone in the series, as was usual with previous Ultra versions.
Instead of topping the category, the phone will come with lower specifications and will rank lower than the Redmi K90 Pro Max and Redmi K90 Max within the series ranking.
According to Xiaomi’s plan, the Redmi K90 Pro Max will remain the most integrated option with a focus on flagship-class camera performance, while the Redmi K90 Max will be geared towards strong gaming performance.
As for the Redmi K90 Ultra, it will come between them and the basic version of the Redmi K90, offering a higher level than the standard phone, but without reaching the higher categories.
