The match between Argentina and Mauritania ended a short while ago, in the match that brought together the two teams in the framework of a friendly confrontation, as part of the Tango team’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The Argentine national team, led by Lionel Scaloni, defeated its Mauritanian counterpart, 2-1, in the match that was held on the grounds of Alberto Jose Armando Stadium in the Land of Tango.
The Tango team scored the opening goal in the 17th minute of the start of the match, through its player Enzo Fernandez, after a pass from Nahuel Molina.
The Argentine national team added its second goal in the 23rd minute of the first half, through its player Nico Paz.
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni brought on Messi at the start of the second half in the 46th minute, instead of Nico Paz.
The Mauritanian national team was able to reduce the score, by scoring a goal in the last minute in substitute time at the end of the match, through its player Jordan Lefort.
The match ended with Argentina winning 2-1.

The Argentine national team is scheduled to meet its counterpart, Zambia, in a friendly match, next Wednesday at 1:25 am Cairo time.
Mauritanian absence from the 2026 World Cup
The Mauritanian national team will miss the 2026 World Cup, after failing to qualify, as it ranked fifth in the standings of Group Two in the African continent’s qualifiers.
