Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed IranianHe announced that his country entered into negotiations with the United States in Islamabad in good faith with the aim of ending the war, during a tour he described as one of the most intense and highest-level tours in recent decades.
Collapse of the Iranian-American negotiations
Araqchi added in a blog post on his official account on the X website that the discussions were a few steps away from reaching what he called the Islamabad Understanding.
He revealed that the reason behind the collapse of the negotiations in Islamabad was that the Iranian delegation faced exaggerated demands and a constant change in goals, in addition to the threat of imposing a blockade by the negotiator and the American administration.
He pointed out that what happened reflects the failure to learn lessons for the United States of America, stressing that good faith generates good faith, while hostility generates hostility.
