The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that an American E-3 AWACS early warning aircraft, valued at approximately $700 million, was shot down by a Shahed 136 drone, valued at only approximately $20,000.

The Public Relations of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard added, in a statement carried by Tasnim Agency, that the targeting led to significant damage to it and other aircraft that were in its vicinity.

Yesterday, Iran carried out a strong attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in the injury of 12 American soldiers, including two in serious condition.

According to the American Wall Street Journal, at least one American E-3 Sentry AWACS early warning radar aircraft was damaged as a result of the attack.

She added that the base was subjected to a missile attack and a drone attack, which resulted in the injury of 12 US military service members, in addition to causing damage to a number of US refueling aircraft.

Meanwhile, the British newspaper The Telegraph published pictures of the American plane, after it was destroyed during the Iranian attack on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

The pictures show that the plane suffered significant damage, especially to the rear part carrying the rotating radar.
