The official page of the Eastern Antiquities District commented, saying: The activities of the architectural elevation of the Tell Basta excavation site have been launched for the year 2026, in the presence of Engineer Osama Al-Zayat, Director of Architectural Drawing in South Sinai, in an important step to study the site and document the archaeological monuments there.
The excavations are being carried out by a mission from the Supreme Council of Antiquities, headed by Manal Mounir Habib, Director General of Eastern Antiquities, and under the supervision of Dr. Hisham Hussein, Head of the Central Administration of Antiquities of Lower Egypt and Sinai.
The architectural elevation project aims to accurately document the details of the archaeological site, and record the construction and architectural plans for the discovered antiquities, thus contributing to preserving the Egyptian archaeological heritage and facilitating future research studies.
Tell Basta is one of the important archaeological sites that preserve parts of multiple civilizations, and previous excavations have contributed to the discovery of a number of facilities and tombs that reflect the life and practices of ancient societies in the region.
