The Al-Bajour Center district in Menoufia Governorate witnessed the submission of two official grievances by the candidates Moataz Abu Hassan and Brigadier General Adel Al-Saidi, candidates for the House of Representatives seat in the district, to the General Committee, during the legal deadline set for receiving grievances related to the electoral process.

The two grievances included what the two candidates described as electoral violations that marred the voting process, the most prominent of which, according to what was stated in their complaint, was the offering of electoral bribes to voters, citing as evidence a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior arresting a person, in addition to the circulation of a number of videos indicating illegal practices, according to what was included in the grievances.

In their grievances, the two Bagour candidates called on the General Committee to take the necessary legal measures regarding the facts presented, stressing that these practices, from their point of view, may have a direct impact on the integrity of the electoral process and the results of voting within the district, which requires verification and examination in accordance with the regulating rules.

The General Committee in Al-Bajour had previously announced the result of the numerical counting of voters’ votes, which resulted in a run-off between Muhammad Fayez Abdel Salam, the candidate of the Hamat al-Watan Party, and Ahmed al-Sabki, the independent candidate, after they obtained the highest votes among the competitors in the district.
