Giza Governorate announced that the Executive Authority for Greater Cairo Reconstruction Projects and the General Supervisor of the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Axis Project have begun implementing the work of raising the concrete beams for the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Axis, specifically at the top of the Ring Road (the western arch in both directions).

Giza Governorate explained that the matter requires a complete closure of the Ring Road (Western Arc) in both directions in the aforementioned area, for a period of 21 days, starting from today until Thursday 1/29/2026, with the work being carried out daily from 12 am until 6 am, with the Ring Road (Western Arc) being opened at full capacity, traffic returning to normal in both directions, and all equipment being removed daily after the completion of the work.

For his part, Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, directed the officials of the concerned authorities, in coordination with the company executing the works, to take the necessary measures to facilitate traffic movement and prevent crowding in the vicinity of the works throughout the implementation period.

The governor pointed out that the General Administration of Giza Traffic made the following traffic diversions:
– Coming from the Saft El-Laban areas in the direction of the Alexandria Desert Road: Use the house just before the intersection with Amr Ibn Al-Aas Axis (the house is 3 lanes wide), passing under the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Axis, then ascending again to the ring road after bypassing the business district.

– Coming from the Alexandria Desert Road in the direction of the Saft El-Laban area: Use the house of the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Corridor (the new one) leading to the Al-Bakari Manshiyet area, passing under the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Corridor, then ascending to the ring road again from the new beginning of the Al-Bakari Manshiyet areas in the direction of the Saft El-Laban areas or the 26th of July Corridor, or enter the right of the Amr Ibn Al-As Corridor and walk for a distance of approximately 500 metres, then turn around from the top of the Amr Ibn Al-As Corridor through a newly created opening, To return again to the house of Amr Ibn Al-Aas axis leading to the ring road (Western Arch) in the direction of the Saft El-Laban areas.

Giza Governorate confirmed that the General Administration of Giza Traffic coordinated with the executing company not to begin implementing the works except after reviewing all technical assistance and industrial security works, which include lighting, mills, traffic breaks, sound speed bumps, and guidance and warning signs and boards, in addition to concrete barriers for traffic diversions in both directions, in order to preserve the safety of citizens and facilitate traffic movement.
