Today, Monday, the competent court is hearing the first session of the trial of the accused of ending the life of the artist Saeed Mukhtar, following a quarrel that broke out between them in the vicinity of the Wadi Degla Club in October Gardens.

The referral order stated that the Public Prosecution charged Atef A., locked up, 61 years old, residing in the Gharbia Tanta Center, because on December 5, 2025, the victim, Saeed Mukhtar, was killed in the First October Police Department in Giza Governorate, due to family disputes between them, intentionally, without premeditation or monitoring.
The referral order added: The accused, as a result of a verbal altercation, developed into a quarrel, and at that time he assaulted him by inflicting two blows on him, one of which landed on his chest, using a knife, inflicting an injury that claimed his life, intending to take his life, as indicated in the investigations, and he obtained a knife without a license.
For her part, the lawyer of the late Saeed Mukhtar said, during a live broadcast on her Facebook page, that Mukhtar was exposed – according to her account – to treachery while on his way to see his son, pointing out that the date of the meeting was scheduled in one of the malls in October City, but his ex-wife changed the place and date, and attended with her common-law husband Atef, considering what happened a planned plot.
She revealed that the circulating talk about the artist’s divorce is inaccurate, as the wife is still legally responsible for him, and that the lawsuit she filed to divorce him last September has not yet been decided, which makes her common-law marriage to the accused an illegal situation.
She explained that the artist had rented an apartment for his wife at the beginning of last November, and transferred a sum of money to her hours before the incident out of consideration for the needs of their son Salim, stressing at the same time that the wife had been preventing him from seeing the child during the recent period.
