Today, Wednesday, the Economic Court in Cairo continues the trial session of the accused of insulting and defaming the artist Mohamed Nour, against the backdrop of her accusation of committing the crime of insult and defamation through the social networking site Facebook.

Investigations into Case No. 6800 of 2025, Maadi Administrative Office, registered under Investigation No. 2674 of 2025, revealed that the defendant used her personal account on Facebook to publish posts that included offensive expressions against the victim, which caused him severe psychological, moral, and material damage, according to what was stated in his statements and investigations by the competent authorities.
When the accused was confronted during the investigations, she denied the accusations, confirming that the aforementioned account did not belong to her. However, investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department of the General Administration of Information Technology confirmed that the electronic account in question belonged to her, and that she was the actual user of it.
Based on the conclusions of the investigations and investigations of the security services, the competent investigation authorities ordered that the accused be referred to the competent economic court, to be tried for the accusations attributed to her related to the misuse of social media and the publication of statements that would harm the reputation of others.
