Today, Sunday, the activities of the first phase of the revitalization campaign for awareness and family planning will be launched in Qena Governorate, within the framework of the President of the Republic’s Beginning initiative, under the slogan The Journey of a Golden Thousand Begins with a Step, with 5 Centers, and will continue until the 18th of this month.
Launching a family planning promotional campaign
Ahmed Mahmoud Sadiq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Qena, explained that the first phase of the campaign will be in the centers of Qena, Qus, Qift, Dishna and Abu Shet, and will be held under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, and Dr. Abla Alfi, Deputy Minister of Health and Population.
Sadiq pointed out that the pregnancy aims to expand the availability of family planning and reproductive health services in the areas most in need and the target groups, in order to meet the unmet needs of society and enhance health and family awareness in the governorate.
For her part, Dr. Amal Al-Amir, Director of the Family Planning Department at the Qena Health Directorate, indicated that the campaign will witness the provision of a package of family planning services, including long-acting methods, tablets, and IUDs, in addition to women’s clinic services for medical examination for women. The campaign also includes implementing awareness seminars and activities of women’s clubs, which contributes to raising the level of community awareness and improving family reality.
