Cairo Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply, is preparing to open the one-day market in front of the Marj District Presidency, at 9 a.m. next Sunday, December 14, 2025.
This comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to confront high prices and reduce the burdens on citizens.

Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, and Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply, will inaugurate the activities organized by the governorate with the aim of providing high-quality basic and food commodities at reduced prices lower than their counterparts in the markets, as part of the state’s efforts to extend the umbrella of social protection and provide families’ needs at fair prices.
The market includes various products that citizens need daily, including meat, poultry, vegetables, oils, and legumes, while providing significant discounts that ease the burden of high prices, and provide various alternatives that meet the needs of the most needy families.
This step comes within a series of ongoing government initiatives to control market movement, achieve price balance, and provide direct support to citizens through mobile and fixed outlets and markets that allow the purchase of goods with high quality and reasonable prices.
Earlier, Engineer Adel Al-Najjar confirmed the governor Giza The continued intensification of inspection campaigns carried out by the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in coordination with the heads of neighborhoods, centers, cities and all concerned parties, with the aim of following up on markets and food establishments and ensuring the safety of the products traded in order to preserve the health of citizens.
The governor explained that the report of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine for the month of November revealed the seizure of 45 tons of meat slaughtered outside government slaughterhouses, in addition to processed meat, poultry, and liver that were spoiled and unfit for human consumption. Legal measures were taken against the violators and 36 reports were issued detailing the seized incidents.
