The center of Beni Mazar, north of Minya Governorate, witnessed a new tragedy, after the groom breathed his last, as a result of his serious injuries, only to join his bride hours after her death in a wedding car convoy accident that overturned on the road to the village of Shalqam.
The bride was killed instantly as a result of the accident, while the groom was taken to the hospital in critical condition to receive the necessary treatment, but his health condition deteriorated, and attempts to save him were unsuccessful, and he died hours after the death of his bride.
The details of the incident are due to the security services receiving notification of a car overturning accident within a wedding convoy, which resulted in the death of the bride and the injury of the groom and a number of their companions. The injured were transferred to the hospital.
The groom’s body was placed at the disposal of the investigating authorities, in preparation for completing the legal procedures and authorizing the burial, while the competent authorities continue their investigations to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident, which turned the joy of the wedding into a funeral overshadowed by sadness.
