The work of the Spanish mission begins in the Ihnasia archaeological area in Beni Suef
The mission aims to complete excavations and field studies at the site, with a focus on documenting archaeological layers and analyzing finds that contribute to a deeper understanding of the city’s history and its cultural role across different eras. The work plan also includes the use of the latest scientific techniques in documentation, monitoring and archaeological surveying, in a way that enhances the quality of research results.
Archaeological sources confirmed that the mission’s work comes within the tourism strategy to support foreign missions operating in Egypt, and to encourage international partnerships in the fields of research, restoration, and training, which will reflect positively on the movement of scientific research and promotion of archaeological sites.
The mission is scheduled to submit periodic reports on the results of its work, and any new discoveries will be announced immediately upon completion of the necessary preliminary studies.
