The Toukh Misdemeanor Court in Qalyubia Governorate ruled to postpone the trial of those accused of storming a café in the village of Deir Toukh using a gas canister and intimidating customers until the January 11 session.

The incident of storming the Toukh Café

Earlier, the Qalyubia security services, under the supervision of Major General Ashraf Gaballah, Director of Security, revealed the circumstances of the circulation of a video clip that included the intimidation of 4 people on motorcycles and citizens sitting in a café with white weapons and a stove pipe.

Information was received from Major General Mohamed Al-Sayed, Director of the General Department of Investigations in Qalyubia, and Major General Wael Metwally, Head of Investigations in Qalyubia, from Lieutenant Colonel Mustafa Kamel, Chief of Investigations at the Toukh Police Station, about monitoring the circulation of a video clip that was circulated on social media sites, which included a group of people on motorcycles attacking citizens sitting in a café with bladed weapons and a stove pipe.

Upon examination, the people shown in the video clip were identified as 4 defendants who were riding two motorcycles and tried to intimidate the citizens sitting in the café with knives and a stove pipe, in the village of Al-Deir, affiliated with the Central District, following disputes between them and the café owner. The incident did not result in any of the café’s patrons being injured.

After codifying the procedures, the accused were arrested, the necessary report on the incident was prepared, and the competent authorities took over the investigation.

Earlier, the competent investigation authorities in Qalyubia Governorate ordered the imprisonment of the four accused in the incident of storming a café in the village of Deir Batukh with a gas pipe and terrorizing customers. 4 days pending investigations, taking into account the necessary legal renewal dates for them.

Investigations by the Criminal Investigation Unit at Toukh Police Station in Qalyubia Governorate revealed new details about the incident, confirming the authenticity of the incident, which was carried out by 4 people using a gas pipe to intimidate customers and spread a state of panic.

The investigations clarified the role of each accused in the incident, as it was found that the first accused, called “K,” was in possession of a gas canister and terrorized citizens, while the second accused, “Y,” carried a sharp instrument, while the third accused drove a motorcycle, and the fourth accused was in possession of a knife.

When the defendants were confronted with the results of the investigations before the investigating authorities, they all denied committing the incident, and the necessary legal measures were taken, and the Public Prosecution is conducting investigations.
