Ministry of Youth: The Swimming Federation and the Zohour Club are responsible for the death of swimmer Youssef

Mohamed El-Shazly explained, during a phone call on the “Happening in Egypt” program, with journalist Sherif Amer, broadcast on MBC Egypt, that the law obliges every club to provide a medical team for players participating in tournaments, pointing out the importance of having a medical record for each player before participating, which enabled the competent authorities to transfer the incident of Youssef’s death to the Public Prosecution for investigation.

Mohamed Al-Shazly, spokesman for the Ministry, added that the Swimming Federation officially takes over the swimming pools before the tournament and is responsible for them, and that the Ministry of Youth is awaiting the results of the prosecution’s investigations before taking any penalties against those responsible for the death of the child Youssef, stressing that the full responsibility lies with the Swimming Federation and the Al-Zohour Club regarding this incident.
