On the first day of Eid al-Fitr, the streets of Matrouh Governorate witnessed a state of remarkable calm and the absence of passers-by, as a result of the noticeable drop in temperatures that affected the movement of citizens and their going out to celebrate.

Field tours observed that a number of the main streets and squares were free of the usual crowds, in contrast to the large demand the governorate witnesses on such an occasion for strolling and going out to the Corniche and public parks.
A number of citizens attributed this calm to the cold weather and winds that the city witnessed, preferring to stay at home and postpone going out until later in the day as weather conditions improve.

It is expected that the streets will witness gradual traffic during the evening hours, with moderate temperatures and the return of the festive atmosphere that characterizes Eid al-Fitr in Matrouh Governorate.
