The Grand Egyptian Museum received Christopher Landau, US Deputy Secretary of State, and Farrokh Hamid al-Din Sharifzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, and their accompanying delegations, during their official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

They were received by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum, who welcomed the two guests and reviewed the museum’s vision, its cultural and scientific mission, and its role in highlighting ancient Egyptian civilization globally. He also presented them with souvenirs related to the museum.
The visit included an extensive tour of the museum’s corridors, starting with the outer courtyard, the main lobby, and the great staircase, all the way to the main exhibition halls that recount the development of Egyptian civilization through the various eras, from the early dynastic era until the Greek and Roman eras, in addition to the halls of King Tutankhamun, which displays his entire possessions for the first time in one place. The tour concluded with a visit to the King Khufu Boat Museum.
At the conclusion of the visit, the two sides expressed their great admiration for the unique archaeological treasures contained in the museum, praising the splendor of the museum display scenario and the accuracy of its production, and the honorable cultural image it reflects of Egypt and its historical and cultural status globally.
