Major General Dr. Reda Farhat, Vice President of the Congress Party and Professor of Political Science, said that the clear and decisive Egyptian position regarding the recent Israeli allegations regarding Fatah Rafah crossing The exit of the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip reflects the Egyptian state’s steadfastness in its national and historical approach to protecting Palestinian rights and rejecting any attempts to impose a new reality that serves the goals of the occupation, indicating that what some Israeli media are promoting is only part of an organized campaign for political pressure and distorting the Egyptian role that completely rejects forced displacement plans.
Farhat explained that the Egyptian state has categorically declared that the issue of the displacement of Palestinians represents a red line that cannot be approached under any circumstances, because it directly affects Egyptian national security, as well as the national and Arab constants to support the survival of the Palestinian people on their land. He pointed out that Cairo has always been the force supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and the guarantor of any agreements aimed at protecting civilians and alleviating suffering within the Strip, and that its record over the decades confirms its complete rejection of any arrangements aimed at emptying the land of land. Its inhabitants.
Farhat pointed out that Israel is trying to create misleading media narratives to confuse Egyptian efforts to manage the crossings file, especially after the agreements reached in Sharm El-Sheikh, which clearly stipulated organizing movement through the Rafah crossing in both directions, and not turning it into a gateway to implementing political goals or new demographic engineering in the region, stressing that Egypt is strictly committed to these agreements and will not back down from them under any pressure.
He also pointed out that the Israeli leaks are nothing but an attempt to create diplomatic crises and make the matter appear as if Egypt is a party to unilateral solutions, while the truth is that Cairo announces its positions transparently and constantly puts public opinion in the picture, and works to control the humanitarian situation in Gaza without being drawn into the occupation’s attempts to exploit these crises to achieve political gains.
Farhat added that Egypt has proven over the past years that it is the most responsible and balanced party in managing the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, through its role in mediation and ceasefire, its continued care for Palestinian unity, and its firm position calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed that the Egyptian position will not change: no displacement, no solutions at the expense of national security, and no acceptance of any unilateral measures imposed by the occupation, stressing that the strength of the internal position is The real shield in protecting national and Arab constants.
