The Public Prosecutor, Counselor Mohamed Shawqi, received today, Wednesday, the Chief of Appeal and the Acting First Public Prosecutor of the Assiut Appeals Prosecution Office, and the First Public Prosecutors and Public Prosecutors of its overall prosecution offices.

During the session, they presented to the Public Prosecutor the quarterly statements, the completion rate of cases for that period and for the year 2025, and everything related to the work of prosecutors in terms of disposing of seized items and executing judgments.

The Public Prosecutor praised the effort they exerted in performing their work tasks, and the high completion rates for investigation and revenue cases, in a way that achieves speedy justice, especially the cases of previous years, which witnessed an unprecedented boom.

In conclusion, the Attorney General indicated his intention to hold more meetings with the rest of the prosecution offices.

Earlier, the Public Prosecutor, Counselor Mohamed Shawqi, directed periodic inspection of correctional and rehabilitation centers and police stations in various parts of the Republic, and assigned a team of members of the Public Prosecution to move to visit and inspect the Gamasa Correctional and Rehabilitation Center. The team moved there, inspected the inmates’ wards, and verified their cleanliness, readiness, suitability for their numbers, and that they were free of anything that violated their privacy.

The team also listened to a number of inmates regarding their assessment of their living conditions. They did not express any complaints and decided that they enjoyed their full rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the law.

The Public Prosecution team visited the medical center attached to the Correction and Rehabilitation Center, and checked on the conditions of the inmates who frequented it and their regularity in receiving appropriate medical care. It also inspected the center’s pharmacy, exercise areas, and visiting places, reviewing its books, the educational building, places of worship, the reading library, sports fields, and hobby rooms.
