Foreign exchange rates witnessed vs Egyptian pound A noticeable increase at the end of today’s trading, Monday, March 2, after the dollar increased by about one and a half pounds over a period of two days, as the National Bank, Misr, and Commercial International Banks (CIB) agreed on the purchase price of the dollar at 49.17 pounds, while the selling price recorded 49.27 pounds.

Prices of Arab and foreign currencies in banks

Central Bank data showed a convergence in price levels, with the official price of the dollar reaching 49.16 pounds for purchase and 49.30 pounds for sale, amid regular movement of cash flows within the banking sector to meet the needs of importers and companies.

In terms of European currencies, the euro recorded in Egyptian, National and Commercial International banks at 57.52 pounds for purchase, with a slight variation in the selling price, which ranged between 58.11 and 58.16 pounds. The pound sterling also stabilized at 65.47 pounds to buy and 66.44 pounds to sell in the three major banks, while the Central Bank recorded slightly higher levels of 65.89 pounds to buy and 66.09 pounds to sell, which reflects the flexibility of the forces of supply and demand in determining daily exchange rates.

The Kuwaiti dinar exceeds 161 pounds

The Kuwaiti dinar topped the list of highest-priced currencies, as it recorded at the Central Bank 160.79 pounds for purchase and 161.30 pounds for sale, while purchase prices in banks ranged between 157.34 and 158.97 pounds. Regarding the most traded Arab currencies, the Saudi riyal settled at 13.06 pounds for purchase and 13.14 pounds for sale in major banks, and the UAE dirham recorded an average of 13.37 pounds for purchase and 13.41 pounds for sale, with the purchase price at the Commercial International Bank reaching 13.38 pounds.

This slight variation in the prices of Arab currencies reflects the ability of the banking system to manage liquidity and provide major currencies to travelers and investors on a regular basis.
