
Dr. Issam Farhat, President of the University, chaired the meeting MinyaA meeting of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, in light of the changes and new appointments witnessed by some university hospitals, and to discuss ways to develop institutional performance and improve the quality of medical services provided to patients, in addition to its meeting with the new directors of university hospitals and their deputies.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ayman Hassanein, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Hossam Shawky, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ihab Refaat, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and assistants to the Executive Director, as well as the directors and deputies of the main university hospital, the tertiary hospital, and the specialized university hospitals for the liver and digestive system, women, obstetrics and children, the kidney hospital, and heart diseases and surgeries. And the chest, the reception and emergency unit, the eye surgery unit, and oncology.
Dr. Essam Farhat stressed the full commitment of Minya University to providing all the basic components and providing the necessary support to the leaders of the new university hospitals, enabling them to perform their role in improving the level of treatment services provided to citizens.
The University President explained the importance of working to create a positive and distinct mental image of the university’s hospitals, reflecting their service, educational and societal role, within the framework of the ongoing preparations for Minya Governorate to join the comprehensive health insurance system.
He stressed the need to develop the competence of human cadres, including medical and nursing staff, and workers, as one of the most important pillars of sustainable development, in addition to developing development plans and programs based on a clear vision for improved work efficiency.
The University President directed the necessity of permanent presence and continuous traffic within hospitals, ensuring the provision of all health services to patients, and achieving complete integration between the various medical specialties, with an emphasis on the good treatment of patients and their companions, developing performance according to modern methods of hospital management, and adhering to the performance quality standards recommended locally and internationally, and in accordance with quality standards.
Dr. Issam Farhat also stressed the importance of motivating administrators and workers at university hospitals to apply for academic accreditation in hospitals that have not yet obtained it, with an emphasis on the continuity of work with the same efficiency and quality in hospitals that have obtained accreditation, through periodic follow-up and continuous evaluation of performance.
The University President stressed the importance of developing the internal resources of university hospitals, to contribute to raising the efficiency of the infrastructure, supporting periodic maintenance work, and providing the necessary medical supplies, to ensure the sustainability of providing distinguished medical service worthy of Minya University hospitals.
