The Journalists Syndicate decided to postpone a celebration Journalism Awards The Egyptian “Mahmoud Awad Course 2025”, from Monday, December 22 to Saturday, December 27, 2025 AD at five o’clock in the evening at the union’s theater, in order to complete the preparations and keep the ground floor of the union busy with the procedures for renewing the union’s card, and the treatment project.

The OIC Broadcasting Union sponsors the Press Freedom Award

On the other hand, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Radio and Television Union, headed by Dr. Amr Al-Laithi sponsored this year’s Press Freedom Award, which was awarded to the martyrs of the Palestinian press as part of his efforts to support the Palestinian cause.

The celebration includes honoring the winners of the competition and the shortlisted candidates, in addition to the Appreciation Award, the Press Freedom Award, and special honours.
Mahmoud Kamel, a member of the Syndicate Council supervising the Egyptian Press Awards Competition, confirmed that the number of those who participated in the competition was 527 male and female journalists from various Egyptian newspapers and press websites.

He added that the competition includes 10 press branches for general awards, and 12 press branches for special awards.

66 senior journalist writers in various Egyptian newspapers and websites participated in judging the competition.

He explained that the appreciation award was given this year to journalist and trade union writer Amina Shafiq.

The Press Freedom Award was also awarded this year to the martyrs of the Palestinian press. Due to the professional and personal sacrifices they made in order to convey the truth to the world and expose the falsity of the Zionist entity’s narrative.

He extended his full thanks to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Radio and Television Union, headed by Dr. Amr Al-Laithi for sponsoring the Press Freedom Award as part of his support for Palestinian journalists.

It was also decided to celebrate this year Al-Ahram newspaper on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of its publication, and to celebrate the two magazines, Al-Musawar and Rosal-Youssef, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of their publication.

It was also decided to grant a special honor to the journalist writer Abdul Qader Shuhaib on the occasion of the centenary of Al Musawwar magazine at the Dar Al Hilal Foundation, and to grant a special honor to the journalist writer Rashad Kamel on the occasion of the centenary of the Rosa Al Youssef magazine at the Rosa Al Yousef Foundation.

It was also decided to grant a special honor to one of the oldest sheikhs of proofreaders and linguistic reviewers based on the recommendation received from the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Press Awards, where the nomination received from the Association of Reviewers in the Syndicate was approved to honor journalist writer Naguib Muhammad Yaqoub, one of the oldest sheikhs of proofreaders and proofreaders at Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation.
