Cairo News 24 reported that the government decided to exploit the assets located on the banks of the Nile River as part of the state’s plan to maximize the benefit of these sites by offering them to the private sector to establish luxury hotel projects.

The source explained that the government has completed the initial inventory of 70 plots of land in distinct locations distributed among the governorates of Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia, expecting the full inventory to be completed before the end of next January, in preparation for presenting it to the Council of Ministers to take the final decision regarding the start of implementation procedures.

The Ministry of Finance had authorized the Urban Development Fund to be the investment arm to manage its assets, determine appropriate prices for lands and select investors according to comparison mechanisms.

The government is working to determine the optimal use of each piece of land, whether through partnerships with the private sector or through direct development by the state, within the framework of a plan to maximize the value of public assets based on accurate evaluations that ensure they are priced in a way that reflects their true value and used in projects that support the economy.
