Announce Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad, today, Sunday, announced the issuance of a circular regarding following up on the implementation of the remote work system in private sector establishments, in implementation of Prime Minister’s Decision No. 982 of 2026, regarding regulating remote work on Sunday of every week, during the current month of April, without affecting the workflow within the establishments.
The Minister explained that the Ministry of Labor circulated this periodic book to the directors of the labor directorates in the governorates, to follow up on the implementation of the decision within the private sector establishments located within the scope of each directorate, and to ensure commitment to its implementation in accordance with the controls regulating it.
The Minister confirmed that the circular includes a number of executive procedures, including following up on the implementation of the decision within establishments, monitoring any obstacles or inquiries that may arise during implementation, in addition to collecting data related to the sectors most committed to implementing the system, as well as the sectors that are least committed and the reasons for that.
The Minister indicated that the circular book also includes preparing a weekly statement that includes an inventory of the establishments that responded to the implementation of the remote work system, the numbers of workers benefiting from it, and the nature of the jobs and work that are carried out remotely, which contributes to evaluating the experience and measuring its effects on the work environment and productivity.
He added that the Ministry assigned the Labor Directorates to prepare weekly follow-up reports on the results of implementation, and send them to the Ministry’s General Office on a regular basis, allowing accurate follow-up of the implementation of the decision at the republic level.
The Minister of Labor stressed that the Ministry is keen to implement the state’s decisions in a way that achieves a balance between work continuity and production on the one hand, and creating a flexible work environment that supports digital transformation and keeps pace with modern changes in work patterns on the other hand.
The Minister concluded his statement by emphasizing that the Ministry of Labor will continue to coordinate with the relevant authorities and the private sector to ensure the optimal implementation of the remote work system, in a way that serves the interests of workers and enhances the efficiency of the labor market.
