He met with Dr. Ashraf Sobhi Minister SportsMembers of the Medical Committee at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of implementing the medical code for athletes at reduced prices, within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to provide the best medical service at the lowest cost, which contributes to alleviating the financial burden on families, and expanding the base for practicing sports in a healthy, safe and inexpensive manner.

During the meeting, the Minister of Sports stressed the importance of expanding the places for conducting medical examinations at reduced prices nationwide, to reduce pressure on current medical units and facilitate athletes’ access to the service, while ensuring that it is provided with higher efficiency and quality.

The Minister of Sports stressed the intensification of follow-up and periodic oversight of the application of the medical code, and ensuring full compliance with the required quality and efficiency standards at all stages of service provision, ensuring the achievement of the desired health goals and the protection of players.

He also stressed the tightening of oversight over medical services companies and sports medicine units, to ensure their commitment to providing approved medical services of high quality and in accordance with the controls and standards set by the Ministry.

The Minister of Sports stressed the need to train all workers in the sports sector within sports clubs and federations in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of electroshock devices (AED), and the application of Basic Life Support principles, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Egyptian Red Crescent.

The role of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority in providing ambulances and trained ambulance teams during tournaments and sporting events was also emphasized, ensuring rapid medical intervention and immediate handling of emergency cases during competitions.

The meeting discussed the preparation of a medical code for patrons of health clubs and gyms, in addition to tightening control over the circulation of nutritional supplements within health clubs, and intensifying monitoring of the use of sports stimulants, in order to preserve the health of athletes and ensure the integrity of competitions.

The meeting also discussed the importance of expanding sports nutrition awareness programs and psychological and physical preparation, which contributes to preserving the health of athletes and raising their efficiency, in addition to working to develop the sports health system and raise the efficiency of the cadres working in it.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Youth and Sports stressed that the primary goal of these efforts is to protect players, raise the efficiency of the sports medical system, and work to create a comprehensive medical database for athletes, in a way that supports decision-making and ensures the sustainability of health care within the sports sector.
