Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, met today, Saturday, with the first Egyptian men’s handball team during their camp at the Hassan Mostafa International Hall Complex, in the presence of Khaled Fathi, President of the Egyptian Handball Federation, along with the team’s technical and administrative staff, and the players.

The meeting comes within the framework of intensive preparations to participate in the Spanish International Friendly Championship, which is scheduled to be held from January 8 to 11 next, as part of the preparation program for the 2026 African Handball Cup in Rwanda.
The Minister of Sports was keen to support and motivate the players and the technical staff, stressing his great confidence in the capabilities of the national team to appear in an honorable manner, and to continue the achievements achieved by Egyptian handball at the continental and international levels, as it is a role model in all games.
The Minister of Sports stressed that the Egyptian state pays great attention to the national teams, and provides them with all means of support, in order to achieve the best results and raise Egypt’s name high in international forums, noting that participation in strong friendly tournaments such as the Spanish International Championship represents an important opportunity to interact, gain experience, and raise the rates of technical and physical readiness.
The national team players and the technical staff expressed their appreciation for the great support provided by the Egyptian state and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, noting that this support represents a strong motivation to exert maximum effort during the coming period, and to achieve the aspirations of the Egyptian fans to compete strongly for the African Championship title, stressing their full commitment to implementing the preparation program and reaching the highest rates of technical and physical readiness before the start of the tournament.
