Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, met with a number of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, following the completion of the new formation of the two chambers and the commencement of their legislative duties, to discuss the features of the future plan for the youth and sports sectors, and to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation during the next stage, in a way that supports the state’s orientations towards sustainable development and maximizing the use of youth and sports assets.
The meeting reviewed the efforts witnessed by youth and sports facilities over the past years, and the pivotal role played by the representatives in supporting development plans, whether through approving supportive legislation or parliamentary support for infrastructure projects, which contributed to creating a qualitative shift in the level of services provided to youth in various governorates.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, confirmed that the representatives represent one of the basic pillars in the development system witnessed by youth and sports facilities, noting that this fruitful cooperation was directly reflected in the development of youth centers and transforming them into effective service, development and economic platforms within society.
The Minister explained that the next stage will witness the provision of more technical and administrative support to youth and sports projects, with a focus on developing the investment process within the facilities, and creating an attractive climate for the private sector, in order to achieve a balance between the service dimension and the economic dimension, and contribute to creating sustainable self-resources.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi indicated that the Ministry works according to plans established every 5 years to meet all requirements for the Ministry’s activities, as well as coordinating with the representatives, in order to implement the desired goals, support the state’s vision of empowering youth, and maximizing the return on sports investments, in line with the directions of the political leadership and comprehensive development plans.
