Minister decided Electricity and renewable energyHe raised the food allowance for workers in the electricity sector by 100%, during his participation in the activities of the Ramadan session held at the Electricity Club.
The Minister stressed that the decision comes in appreciation of the efforts of the workers and their vital role in the stability and sustainability of the electrical current, especially during peak periods and operational challenges, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to support and motivate human cadres as they are the basic pillar of the work system.
Earlier, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, met with Counselor Hisham Badawy, Speaker of the House of Representatives, in his office at the Council’s headquarters, within the framework of permanent and continuous coordination and clarifying the ministry’s vision and work strategy to ensure the security and sustainability of electric energy and energy transformation, rely on renewable energies, reduce the use of fossil fuels, and improve the level of services provided to citizens.
Current security and sustainability strategy
The meeting came before the House of Representatives Energy and Environment Committee hosted Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, in the presence of Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, Chairman of the Committee, and a number of representatives. Dr. Esmat reassured the members of the committee about the work of the electrical system at the level of production, transmission and distribution, securing the national electricity network, and providing electrical supply with quality, stability and continuity in all efforts for all uses.
Dr. Mahmoud Esmat provided a detailed explanation of the electricity sector’s action plan during the coming period to secure the supply of electrical energy based on diversifying generation sources (thermal, wind energy, solar energy, and nuclear energy).
The meeting discussed the presentation of the national energy strategy, coordination, cooperation and joint work with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, expanding electricity generation from renewable energies and relying on them, stimulating the participation of the local and foreign private sector and attracting more investments in the field of new and renewable energy. The meeting touched on the policy of supporting local manufacturing and technology transfer and the procedures that were taken to raise the percentage of the local component in renewable energy projects within the framework of the state’s plan to support and localize the industry.
