Cairo 24 continues to publish investigations into the incident of forcing a young man in the village of Mit Assem, in the Benha district of Qalyubia Governorate, to wear women’s clothing in the case known in the media as the “dance suit.”

Statements of the victim regarding the incident of his being forced to wear women’s clothing in Mit Asem

Q: What actions did the defendants take when they took you to the house where the incident occurred?
A: They were all beating me, and when they went home, they took off my clothes by force, and they brought a nightgown – a dance suit – and they dressed me and photographed me and took me down the street while I was wearing it.

Q: Did any of the above photograph you?
A: Yes, their brother filmed me and was telling me to say that my brother was the one who did that.

Q: What is the nature of that video clip?
A: They filmed me while I was sitting at home with them and wearing a dancing suit, and they filmed me saying that it was my brother who did that to me so that I could deny the accusation against them, and saying that it was my brother who made me do that, and I said that because I was afraid of them, and they filmed me and my brother beating me.

Q: Did any of the defendants publish that clip on a social media site?
A: I don’t know.

Q: Were any of the accused in possession of weapons or tools?
A: Yes, her brother had a cymbal with him.

Q: Did the accused use that weapon to assault you?
A: Yes, he used to hit me on the body with a weapon.

Q: How many blows did the defendants inflict on you specifically, and where did they land?
A: They beat me a lot in my whole body.

Q: What injuries did you sustain as a result of that violation?
A: I am injured under both my eyes, on my shoulder, and throughout my body.

Q: Who exactly caused these injuries and what caused them?
A: They all beat me, her two sisters, her two uncles, her mother and her father.

Q: What was the distance between you and the accused when you were assaulted?
A: They were close to me and around me, and they were all hitting me.

Q: Did the accused agree to assault you previously?
A: Yes.

Q: How did this become clear to you?
A: Because they were coming together and knew what they were going to do, and they were prepared in a dance suit.

Q: What is the state of light and visibility at the site of the incident?
A: The vision was clear because we were in the daytime.

Q: What is the distance between your house and the accused’s house?
A: About ten minutes in Arabic, because my house is at the end of the country and their house is at the beginning of the country.

Q: How far did the defendants force you to walk in the street in a dance suit?
A: They walked me for about half an hour in the country in a dancing suit from their house to about five hundred metres, and they brought me back again after the mayor came and hit me with a pen to end the conversation.
