Mahmoud Tawfiq – Minister of the Interior made an official visit to Italy at the head of a high-level security delegation, in response to the invitation of Matteo Piantidozzi, Minister of the Interior of Italy.
The Italian Interior Minister praises the outstanding efforts of the Egyptian security services
An expanded discussion session was held under the chairmanship of the two ministers at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of the Interior, during which the two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation between the Ministries of the Interior of the two countries in various security fields and methods of strengthening them, in addition to the latest developments in security issues of common interest.
During the meeting, the Italian Minister stressed the importance of Egypt’s pivotal role and its position on the regional and international arenas, praising the prominent efforts of the Egyptian security services and the successive successes in the field of combating terrorism and organized crimes in all its forms, especially in the field of combating illegal immigration crimes, noting his country’s interest in expanding the frameworks and mechanisms of security cooperation with the Egyptian police services and raising the level of bilateral coordination to confront the security challenges that have arisen following the deterioration of the political situation in a number of countries around the world.
For his part, Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of the Interior, stressed the depth of the relations between the two countries, pointing out the importance of strengthening cooperation mechanisms and exchanging experiences in security fields of common interest, and concerted efforts to besiege and undermine all negative phenomena resulting from organized crimes, in light of the security challenges imposed by the current situation on the regional and international arenas.
Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of the Interior, also visited a number of police sites in Italy, where he praised the level of readiness of those sites, stressing at the conclusion of his visit the continuation of coordination and consultation to confront the security challenges that threaten global security and peace.
