Communicate Academy Endowments International activities for the training course for Malaysian scholars for the second week in a row, as part of an intensive scientific program aimed at creating a rational world, strengthening tools to confront extremist thought, and building doctrinal and advocacy awareness on solid scientific foundations.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar Abdel Raouf Hassan – culture teacher at the Faculty of Islamic Dawa at Al-Azhar University, presented a series of specialized scientific lectures over the course of three days on explaining the text of Al-Kharidah Al-Bahiya, during which he addressed the scientific status of this text as one of the authentic texts emanating from the Sanusi school, due to its brevity of pronunciation and depth of meaning, which made it one of the approved texts in building the doctrinal and advocacy skills of students of knowledge.
The lecturer explained the effect of rational rule in shaping the awareness of the preacher, indicating that the establishment of rule cannot be achieved except with the presence of a judge, a ruled person, and a ruler distributed between reason, habit, and law, while emphasizing the role of the conscious soul in understanding this system in a sound and balanced manner.
He also reviewed the precise methodological differences between faith and imitation, science and knowledge, general and detailed evidence, and imitation in the origins and branches, stressing that controlling these concepts represents the cornerstone of building an advocacy mind capable of confronting suspicions with argument and knowledge.
The lectures touched on the chapter on divine attributes as one of the most precise chapters of the faith, where the psychological and negative attributes, as well as the attributes of meanings and morals, were explained, emphasizing that the Ash’ari approach is based on God Almighty being above the resemblance of events, without denying what is stated in the legal text, and in accordance with strict scientific controls.
It also stressed that the approach of the Sunnis and the community is based on denying the crime, accident, direction, time and place from God Almighty, and rejecting the occurrence of accidents by Himself, Glory be to Him, while affirming the comprehensive fundamentalist rule: “Everything that appears from its appearance suggests something other than what is intended in the right of God Almighty, then what is meant by it is necessary.”
The program also addressed the chapter on prophecies, and the suspicions raised around it related to infallibility, stressing that sober scientific investigation is sufficient to expose the falsity of these suspicions, and show the consistency of the legal texts with their universal purposes and lofty goals.
The scientific program concluded by addressing Sufism as a practical path for purifying behavior before it is a conventional science, whose goal is to reform the heart and straighten the limbs, while noting the mother books of Sufism that represent scientific support for preachers, foremost of which is Al-Risalah Al-Qushayriyyah, The Revival of Religious Sciences by Imam Al-Ghazali, and the works of Imam Abd al-Wahhab al-Shaarani and Imam Ahmad Zarruq.
The organization of this course comes within the framework of the International Endowments Academy’s keenness to consolidate solid doctrinal awareness and build a preacher capable of combining soundness of approach, depth of understanding, and good eloquence, in a way that contributes to serving societies and confronting contemporary intellectual challenges.
