Dr. Eng. Hossam Abdel Fattah, Governor of Qalyubia, conducted an extensive field tour that included the Safa and Shorouk industrial zones in the city of Khanka, in a step aimed at strengthening direct communication with investors and factory owners, identifying the challenges facing them and working to solve them immediately in coordination with the concerned authorities, as part of the governorate’s efforts to strengthen the industrial sector and advance investment.

He confirmed Governor The state is not satisfied with creating the investment climate, but is keen to have a field presence and support investors in production sites, considering that industry represents the true engine for achieving sustainable development.
The governor began his tour by visiting the administrative building of the two industrial zones, where he held an expanded meeting with officials of the Department of Economic Affairs and Investment and directors of industrial zones, stressing the need to unify efforts and fully coordinate with the Industrial Development Authority and the Investment Authority, to provide an integrated package of supportive facilities for investors, and to transform challenges into real opportunities for growth.
The governor inspected a number of factories and production units, where he visited one of the charcoal factories, located on an area of 2,500 square metres, praising the quality of production, about 50% of which is exported to foreign markets, thus enhancing support for the national economy and providing hard currency.
The governor also inspected one of the metal forming factories, praising the quality of the products being manufactured, some of which are exported to foreign markets, stressing the governorate’s full support for expanding industrial activities and increasing production.
In the Shorouk Industrial Zone, the governor visited one of the companies for advanced industries, and viewed an 80-meter-long uPVC pipe production line, with various diameters, praising the level of advanced technology used in the production process.
The governor concluded his tour by inspecting the industrial sewage station in the Shorouk area, to follow up on implementation rates and identify obstacles, in the presence of Engineer Mohamed Fouda, President of the Qalyubia Water and Sanitation Company, where he followed the construction work of the administrative building, transformer rooms, chemical and diesel tanks, in addition to the sedimentation basins being implemented.
The governor directed an urgent meeting to be held with the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company and the executive authorities, to set a specific timetable for completing the project, especially in light of the challenges related to the rise in groundwater levels.
During the tour, the governor was accompanied by Major General Ahmed Abu Bakr, Mayor of Khanka City, and Adel Amer, Director of the General Administration of Economic Affairs in the Governorate.
