
Today, Major General Amr Al-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia, approved the updated maps of the strategic plan for the cities of Shebin El-Kom, Quesna, Ashmoun, and Berkat El-Sabaa in preparation for their approval by Engineer Randa El-Minshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and publishing it in the Official Gazette for implementation after its publication in order to achieve optimal exploitation of capabilities and resources, as well as accommodating the size of the population increase and infrastructure requirements.
The Governor of Menoufia confirmed that we are working hard to complete the update of the strategic plans for the rest of the cities of the governorate. This came in the presence of Engineer Ashraf Tayel, the engineering advisor to the Governor, and Engineer Iman Al-Shami, Director General of the General Administration of Urban Planning.
The Governor of Menoufia pointed out that the modernization of the strategic plan for the four cities came in accordance with the structural and planning controls and in accordance with Law 119 of 2008 and its executive regulations, which is to modernize the new urban expansions and places of public services and accommodate urban growth areas in all directions of the cities in order to provide the best services to citizens and meet their needs.
The governor added to the importance of adopting strategic plans to define new urban extension areas, control the random growth of buildings, improve the urban structure and living conditions, and strengthen basic facilities, in addition to contributing to the good management of lands allocated for future development in accordance with the new building requirements, preventing the waste of citizens’ property, preventing encroachment on state property, and preserving the agricultural area as a basic pillar of comprehensive development.
