In a special atmosphere filled with joy and happiness, Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, witnessed the closing ceremony of the “Recitation Village” initiative and competition, which was held throughout the month of Ramadan in Al-Mahidat Village, affiliated with Al-Toud Center.
The event began in the square of Sheikh Abdul Salam Mosque in the village of Al-Mahidat, in the presence of Mustafa Jibril, the head of the city of Al-Toud, Sheikh Abdul Salam Abu Al-Hajjaj, patron of Al-Rifaya Square, a number of deputy ministers, and a group of people and executives.
This competition, which was organized along the lines of the famous “State of Recitation” competition, is the first experience of its kind at the level of Luxor Governorate. The activities were held under the auspices of the “Society for the Preservation of the Holy Qur’an in Al-Mahidat,” and aimed to instill a love of the Holy Qur’an in the souls of youth and youth, encourage perfect memorization and correct recitation of the rules of Tajweed, and increase interest in the sciences of the Holy Qur’an and its texts.
The competition witnessed a large turnout and strong competition, as more than 235 memorizers of the Book of God participated in its various stages, and after the qualifiers, 4 contestants with strong voices arrived to participate in the closing ceremony, where Ziad Muhammad Desouqi from Naga Mekki won the Umrah trip in the children’s category, and Dr. Ismail Abu Al-Hajjaj from Naga Al-Mahidat won the trip of his life in the adult category.
During the ceremony, the people of the village of Al-Mahidat and the Al-Toud Center expressed their deep thanks and appreciation to the Governor of Luxor for accepting the invitation and his generous presence at the closing ceremony, stressing that the presence of the Governor among his children is a strong motivation and a great incentive to continue supporting such initiatives that elevate young people and support authentic values.
In his speech during the ceremony, the Governor of Luxor expressed his great happiness to be among the memorizers of the Book of God, praising the distinguished level of the contestants, stressing that this good initiative reflects the bright face of Luxor Governorate, and confirms the keenness of our people to raise generations endowed with the values of the Holy Qur’an and good morals, extending his thanks to all those responsible for this noble effort, and stressing the governorate’s continued full support for such activities that build people and raise awareness and society.
