Continuing intensive campaigns to protect citizens’ health and tighten control over markets
The campaigns, which were carried out under the supervision of Engineer Hanan Amer, Director of the Food Safety Authority branch in Gharbia, resulted in the seizure of a quarter of a ton of poultry of unknown origin inside one of the kitchens of a famous restaurant, as it was found that there was no data or documents indicating its source or suitability for consumption. Also, 250 kilograms of nutritional supplements banned from being traded in the markets because they did not comply with the approved requirements were seized, in addition to the seizure of 600 kilograms of cheese that was found to contain clear molds. In addition to seizing a quarter of a ton of herring unfit for human consumption due to changes in its natural properties and the appearance of signs of corruption, the necessary legal measures have been taken regarding all violations and the seizures have been seized.
The Governor of Al-Gharbia confirmed that the executive agencies are continuing to intensify oversight campaigns on a daily and extensive basis at all outlets and markets, stressing that the governorate will not allow the circulation of any food commodities that pose a threat to the health of citizens, and that any violations will be dealt with with the utmost firmness, within the framework of a clear strategy that places the health and safety of citizens at the top of priorities, while continuing full coordination between all concerned parties to achieve complete discipline within the markets.
